Kate tugged at her arm. "Kalyn I'll have my dad and he'll have me, who'll they have?" she gestured at Angani and Kaiser, both battered and exhausted. "Stay with them, I'll come back." she gave her a hug then wriggled out the window and shot out intot he street into the air. She carved hard around the corner and saw her dad on the ropes and a wind slinger looking like she was about to deliver a hellish blow.
"HEY!" she screeched and slammed into Audrey's torso at flight speed, throwing them both down the street in a massive wheel of kicking, punching limbs.
"Kate!" Alan snapped, jumping up and running towards them, sending an urgent Tpath to Ashley HUGHES! Get your ass out here Kate's in a fight with Audrey!

Audrey slammed into the ground, an explosion of snow and dirt blowing out around them as her fist connected with the street. She grimaced as a few mad punches hit her, and she tore herself away from her assailant. “There she is,” she sneered, realising who it was that had knocked her off course, panting to catch her breath. “Sweet, darling daughter!” She flashed a look at Alan, before flicking a hand out, the wind picking up around Kate and forcing her closer. She outstretched a hand to grab at her throat.
Ashley swore, eyes flashing. “Get up the damn fire escape!” he snapped at the one he’d shot. “Sorry for snapping, I’m very stressed right now. Gotta be a hero and shit.” He darted forwards, ducking behind the corner of the alley as he raised his handgun up, taking aim. Kate’s struggling form blocked Audrey’s, but all he needed to do was distract the Rebel long enough for Alan to get Kate away from her. He fired a shot into Audrey’s thigh, and as she staggered, another two into her shoulder.
Audrey reeled backwards, howling as the rounds hit her, pain flaring through her body. She stumbled backwards, raising a hand to build another shield around herself, eyes honing in on Ashley. With a shriek, she hurled a funnel of wind at him, the bricks building the wall of the alley cracking under the assault. Ashley glanced up, eyes round with incredulity. As the wall began to cave on top of him, he threw himself back down the alley, towards the non-Rebel.

Alan grabbed Kate by her belt and tugged her backwards, catching Audrey's air blast in the chest, it knocked him off his feet and he landed on his back in the snow. "Kate get out of here!" he snapped at her as she flew back to help him up.
"I can't leave you alone!" Kate heaved him upright and looked over her shoulder at the avalanche of bricks. "Ashley!" she started to fly to him but Alan caught her ankle mid-air.
"He can handle himself you gotta get out of here and I mean this second!" his eyes flashed but there were no sparks like normal. Kate gasped in realization. Alan's static energy reserves were gone. He had no more power to generate energy bolts or enough static charge to fly. He was grounded. "Go!" he gave her ankle a toss. "Alert the Library, tell them to either barricade up or evacuate to the subways." he turned back to fight Audrey. "I'll buy you as much time as I can."
"Dad no!" Kate's eyes welled. "They'll rip you apart!"
"I know, so GO!" Alan barked at her and ran back to Audrey, fists balled, ready to fight to the death.
Kate's eyes welled and she hovered in confusion before flying fast ahead of them towards the library, she had to find some back up!

Zeke had stubbornly avoided Alliser's gaze until he mentioned his brother. He looked back at him, his brow creased with worry. "I guess not." He folded his arms and started to walk the perimeter of the room, feeling like a caged animal. "So we're just gonna sit here? For how long? You're gonna freeze before long."
-- Brody half considered stopping short on the fire escape, just to spite the yelling man, but the action and fighting flying around him, propelled his body forward. He heaved his body up onto the roof and staggered to the ground, hiding behind the brick ledge. This was bullshit. He hadn't done anything. Why'd he have to get stuck in the middle?

Alliser shrugged. "Until we know it's safe. I won't be taking any chances, Zeke." He settled against a crate, rubbing at his arm. The adrenaline had fired him up so much he hadn’t noticed the chill without his coat, but now that they were still, he could feel it settling in. He shivered, before getting up to rifle through the various bags and boxes left forgotten in the unit. “I’m more concerned with how we’ll stay fed,” he commented, throwing aside a bent pan. “I didn’t have the time to find us the nicest apocalyptic bunker. I’m afraid nobody’s packed us anything.” He pulled an old Connect Four box from beneath a pile of debris, smiling at Zeke. “Ah, this more like it.”
How’s it looking, out there? He shot at Layla.
---
Ashley groaned as he picked himself up off of the ground, chips of brick and stone scattering around him as he moved. Being crushed by a building was decidedly off his bucket list. Hearing Alan he scrambled up over the remnants of the wall, in time to see him rush at Audrey.
Audrey cackled, seeing Alan come at her bare handed. She flicked her hand nonchalantly to bat him down with a blast of air. “Sending your daughter away so soon, Ranger? But we were just starting to have to some real fun.” She laughed, waving a hand to gather the remainder of her forces around him. “Doesn’t matter, I’m sure we’ll see her again real soon. Her and your lovely wife.” Ashley swore, checking his handgun only to find he'd spent the last of his ammunition. His rifle he’d left up on the ledge. Snapping his head up to see the non-Rebel, we waved an arm. “Oi! You good at anything up there, or are you just a pretty face?” He fingered the knives at his belt. If it came to it, he would have to run in and save the bastard. Bloodstains were a bitch to get out, but having Alan thank him for his life was the lifelong dream.

Zeke ran his hands through his hair and turned to Alliser. He sighed and dropped his arms to his sides. "Way to be prepared," he teased half-heartedly. "What a shame, by the time we get out of here, you'll be withered away to nothing." Coming up behin him, he smiled and plucked the dusty box from his hands. "Oh goodie, now it's a party." He kicked a box out for Alliser to sit on and settled himself on the ground and poured out the plastic grid and red and black game pieces out onto the floor. "You red or black?"
--
Layla and Levi were staying out of the fighting the best they could, only rounding up those that were fighting back to keep the Rebels from turning on them. She halted, Alliser's voice sounding in her head. Like a hell hole. Are you alright? Is Zeke with you?
--
Brody narrowed his eyes. "I'm a lover, not a fighter, if you can't tell," he sneered. "Besides, you just yelled at me to get up here!" He looked around. He figured he probably needed to pull his own weight, or they'd toss him to the wolves. He heaved himself to his feet and peered down at the ground below. There was a Rebel crouched on the ground, nursing his wounded knee. Not the most lethal enemy around, but much more Brody's speed. "Alright," he sighed, starting back down the ladder.
Hopping to the ground, he paused by Ashley's side, a hint of fear tinging his annoyed scowl. "Just...don't let me get shot again," he muttered before slinking out towards the wounded Rebel. As he drew nearer, he recognized the man. He'd been the one to capture the Commando in the bar with his leafy tendrils. Certainly that could be useful. He crept closer and approached with a timid smile. "Hi, ohhh ow, that's gotta hurt," he cooed, nodding to his bloody knee. "Lemme see if I can help." He reached forward, touching the skin of the man's neck. "You know, you really should be attacking the other Rebels. That's what you want to do, isn't it?"
-- Dane stared up, fear sobering him up quickly. He staggered to his feet and looked around. Home. Yeah he wasn't a hundred percent sure which way that was. "Uhhh...listen maybe I'll just stay here. They won't find me..." Because honestly Beth had no idea what to do with Dane or what his power is and is terrible at rping action.

Alan was knocked back against the wall, glad for something stable to lean against to ride out the gust. "Too bad, I should let Kate stab your airhead arse and wached you zoom around like a baloon." Alan's hand felt the holt of his knife in his belt and well as muscle head strength mace. He had to be careful, Audley could blow that back at him, too much for a non-musclehead could be fatal. Instead he went for one of his other toys. A thin whip woven with tough metal fibers. Normally he could chanel his electricity through it to make a fantastic weapon. This tI'm he'd have to use it the old fashioned way. He waited for the gust to die down then spun and snapped the 12 foot metal whip at Audrey's face.

Alliser smirked, sitting down on the box and crossing his legs. "I always play black, you know this." Yes, I'm with him now. I'm trying to distract him with Connect Four, his hero complex kicked in for a minute. Have they not found the prisoner yet? He worried his bottom lip between his teeth. You will stay safe, won’t you?
---
Ashley shrugged at him. “I mean, if you do, it won’t be by my gun,” he said, waving the empty handgun at him. “But sure, I can watch your back.” He followed as the guy slunk around the building, keeping an eye on Alan from afar.
Audrey snapped backwards as the whip struck her, and she tore away with a howl of pain, hands flying up to cover her face. “Take him down, idiots!” she shrieked at the other Rebels, as she backed away, blood dripping from between her fingers. Before the Rebels could take a step forward, a thick vine shot up from under the cover of snow, wrapping a mass of them into a clump and swatting them against the side of a building. They crumpled to the ground.
Ashley looked between his new friend and his Rebel, and back at the vine wreaking havoc. “Are you doing that? How are you controlling his abilities?” Jihun groaned, eyes hazy from the pain of his knee, as he arced a hand to direct the vine back at the crowd of Rebels.

Brody leaned back with a satisfied smirk. "I'm very persuasive," he said simply, backing away out of the line of fire once again.
--
Elsie's head shot up, hearing Audrey's order. With a yip of excitement, she rounded back around, heading straight for Alan. She zipped around him and snatched the whip out of the air. In a whirlwind, she circled the man over and over, tangling him up in his own tether.
--
Zeke snorted and began to pick out the red pieces. "Of course. I thought you would've gotten over your edgy black period by now." He glanced up and frowned, seeing the worried expression souring Alliser's face. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Alan jumped seeing the vine and raised the whip in case he needed to attack it, but it wasn't after him. He turned to look at Ashley in confusion, his moment of distraction cost him dearly as Rashida turned the corner and threw a half crushed car at him. Alan dove for cover but the car pinned him into the deep snow flat on his back. He grunted in pain and tried to push the car off to no affect. "Dirty pool." he grunted, digging at the snow trying to move.
--
Kate flew past the guards into the library, out of breath and teary eyed. "HELP! Help! Rebels are out in mass th-they're gunning down Civilians! They're after Officer Pike on Main and Maddison. You gotta help! I think they have M Guns too! Someone help!"
Elroy was leafing through a book on wood stoves and looked over the railing. M Guns?? Dammit. He tried to hurry down the stairs as the crowd gathered, some trying to clam Kate and other gearing up to leave. Elroy wasn't strong enough to muscle to the front of the crowd, he still had his hood up but he was worried.
"What are they here for?" someone asked Kate.
"I... I don't know I heard one of them say they were looking for an escaped prisoner!" Kate looked around. "Someone give me a gun or something!"
"We're not giving you a gun! Stay here!" someone else grunted.
Elroy stepped back and hid in the aisle of books, heart hammering. This was all his fault. People were getting killed because he was on the run. The stress started mounting. He pressed the heels of his hands against his temples and tried not to break down. He couldn't blow this. He had to save Molly. No one else was going to.
-
Rapid shook his head and rested a hand on Dane's shoulder. "Dane, they'll follow the blood here. You gotta go. If you go out this back door." he sketched in blood on the floor in front of him. "There's a private alley it'll take you to the dumpsters and the..." he winced as the bullet whirred and blood oozed darker, hotter. "Ugh.. ok...ok. Th-there's another street, and you go right, it'll take you to Silver Hills. You should find your way home from there." he clapped a hand over his bullet wound. "It was nice knowing you." he dragged himself out of the way. "Now get lost and don't come back in this area. Its not safe."

Alliser blinked out of his daze, fixing Zeke with a blank look. "Nothing at all, I'm sure it was a trick of the light," he said, taking the black pieces. He began the game by slotting a piece into the board. His mouth curved in a wry grin. "You must admit, of all people, it's incredibly ironic that I would befriend your brother and Layla. It was probably inevitable that I was going to see you again one day, this is just...not how I imagined it would go."
---
Ashley laughed, watching the vine destroy the ranks of the Rebels. "No kidding," he said, shaking his head. "That's some power of yours."
Audrey saw that Alan had been downed. "Bind him, one of you," she snapped, hand pressed tightly to the wound on her face. "We're bringing him back with us. And sort out those goddamn vines!"
Ashley swore, seeing Alan being bound and hefted away. This wasn't making him look good at all. Before he could turn to ask Brody to make a badass distraction, he was hit soundly over the head by a large Rebel musclehead. Hana grabbed him by the scruff, hauling him up under one arm, knocked out cold. "That's my friend you've got there," she grunted at Brody, before swatting him down.
Jihun groaned as his desire to attack the Rebels wore off, and he let his head fall back against the wall, exhausted. "Hana," he breathed, taking her hand and rising to his feet shakily.
"Are you good to walk? I have to carry these guys off with us for questioning," she said, beginning to pick Brody up.

Dane staggered back, pulling Rapid with him. "Are you sure...?" He glanced over his shoulder, looking toward the alley. "Well...you come with me," he insisted, turning back to him. "You're big, but I don't think you can handle much more. I'm better off sticking aroun here than you are." Just then, a stray bullet caught him in the shoulder. He was thrown back with a hiss of surprise and pain.
He groaned, blinking blankly up at the ceiling as he waited for the pain to melt away. Blossoming warmth replaced the stinging and he let out a relieved sigh as he sat up. "God damn...okay, I think I'm ready to leave now."
--
Brody opened his mouth to yell as Ashley was struck down, only to be hit over the head himself. He dropped like a rock beside Ashley.
lol idk
--
Zeke watched him for a moment, worried suspicion glittering in his eyes. Knowing Alliser wouldn't indulge any more, he shook his head, a small smile touching his lips. "What, so you think it was fate that brought us together again?" His smile softened and he dropped a red piece, blocking Alliser's three pieces. It was a nice thought.

Alan tried to wrestle out of Clay's grip as the half stunned mound of muscle held his arms behind his back while Rashida bound his arms and legs, dropping him back into the snow. He was bound tight and he couldn't move. "Oh I hope I'm still alive to see my wife kick your arse, airhead." he growled at Audrey, though his smirked. Shot, sliced, tackled, zapped and battered. At least they'd given her a hell of a fight.
--
Rapid gasped seeing Dane get hit. "Dane!" he picked him up and braced him against the wall, two bullet ricocheted harmlessly off his back. He set him down. "Oh...Atlas you're hurt." he gasped.
--
Elroy gathered his books and headed back to the third floor and spread the books across a table. His hand were shaking, his left hand was still purple and half-crushed. He tucked it further in his sleeve and pawed through the books, reading about kilns, melting points, incinerators. Too many things required power. Power they just didn't have. He sighed and dropped his forehead into his hand. Who was he fooling? This was all but impossible. He jumped feeling a hand on his shoulder and he turned to see Angel glaring at him.
"A-Angel?" he stammered.
"Get out." Angel growled softly.
"What?" Elroy frowned in confusion and blinked worriedly at him. "Angel what are you talking about?"
"I already told Johnny to get you out of here. With Alfonse and you we don't need the chaos or the massacre." Angel heaved him up by the shoulder and Elroy almost fell from the upheavel. "You gotta leave, either you'll go berserk again or the rest will find you and kill you for the Surge."
"That wasn't my fault!" Elroy tugged his arm free. "Angel I didn't want to hurt you, or Johnny I was a prisoner and Alfonse used me like a tool!"
"Its not just that Elroy." Angel hissed. "You killed hundreds in the surge. You killed the power. Killed all the power in the City. All those people in the hospital on machines? Dead. All those elders in asisted living that couldn't get help? Dead. Babies in NICUs Elroy. Dead. You have so much blood on your hands. And Yeah. Maybe it wasn't you. but Alfonse used you. So you are responsible. You need to leave. No one wants you here."
Elroy's heart twisted at Angel's knifelike words. "Babies?" his voice was a hoarse whisper.
"Yeah." Angel said in a low tone. "Don't make this hard. Its best that you go."
Elroy swallowed hard then turned and hurried down the stairs and out the front door.
He didn't make it far. After two blocks he collapsed on his knees and sobbed into his hands. He didn't realize the damage he'd caused. The bloodshed. The murder. It was all his fault. He could never make it right...

Alliser snorted, scanning the playing board for a new angle. "Of course not, that would be moronic," he said. "But I can admit I did daydream once or twice about how things would play out if we did run into each other again. As one does in the aftermath of a separation.” He dropped a piece into a slot. “I had imagined I'd have a gorgeous model Swiss boyfriend, and that you’d be blown away by how attractive we looked together.” Alliser looked up at Zeke, mouth curling in a smirk. “You would have begged to have me back, torn up with jealousy.”

Sheila woke up to find Elroy gone and shook Johnny awake. "Johnny." She murmured urgently. She got up and looked around. "I think he went downstairs. Come on, If Angel or the others find him..." she hurried down the steps. Bobby chased after her.
Angel kneaded his forehead in grief. He didn't want to be the one to chase him off. But he had hundreds of people to protect. Even if he wasn't a threat right now, harboring only painted a giant target on their building. He saw Sheila coming down the stairs. He knew a fight would be inevitable. He heaved himself up against his crutch to wait for her and Johnny as he started stacking the books spread across the table that Elroy had been reading.
--
Alan got tied up with Ashely and the others and carted off like a sack of potatoes to the island.
