Rapid hit the snowy street hard and tried to shake off Hana, he made a run for the line of Reboot members when Rashida open-fired and an M bullet struck Rapid just above his hip, ripping through his sweatshirt and amor-like skin. He fells hard into the curb, crying out as dark red blood oozed into the white snow around him. He'd never been shot before... Musclehead Bullets were military grade weapons and agonizingly painful. He winced as the spinning bullet twisted further into his thick skin, causing him to bleed more. He staggered to his feet, holding the iron street lamp for support, squeezing it so hard the metal bent like putty in his grip.
--
Elroy didn't make anymore noises until they reached the attic. It was dark, cold, musty and dimly lit by old skylights long in need of replacing or cleaning. He fell asleep in a pile of tarps and when Sheila returned with Johnny and their bags she made them all a cozy nest of blankets and spare clothes and snuggled against Johnny to rest. Up here they were safe and out of sight, for now.
--
Kate nodded. "That should work, c'mon guys." she helped Angani support Kaiser and bring him to the kitchen before pushing and shoving at booths to barricade the door to the kitchen. She squeezed through the hole in the delivery window and crouched beside them. "Dad sent a TPath... its the Reboot members, their going through the streets out for blood." he voice shook. "He's trying to round up former Commandos to help aide the fight."

Dane yelped miserably, his head spinning, as he was picked up and plopped in the corner. "Ughhh..." he whined, pressing his fist to his mouth to hold back the nausea climbing up his throat. "What's going on?" he whimpered until he finally realized silence had settled in the building, save for the stifled drone of fighting outside. "Ok...I'll stay here," he muttered, his head falling back.
--
Cold swept through Layla. "Did Alfonse order this, or...?" She caught Alliser's eye and frowned. "They won't hurt him...He's never spoken out against the Rebels..."
Levi was already heading towards the door. "Course they won't, or I'll kill them."
--
Zeke jolted, his eyes immediately searching for Lorenzo. He was using his own body to brace the door. Zeke felt sick with panic and he let out a yelp to beg his boyfriend to find cover, but fear kept him cemented in place. He ducked behind the bar. All he could hear was the pounding of his own blood in his ears. Until something cut through the noise. Alliser's voice sent a brief wave of calm through him. It was quickly chased away by worry and frustration. Yes. What's going on? You're not part of this, are you...?

"Round him up with the others," Audrey snapped, Hana quickly moving to obey. She grabbed Rapid's arm and threw him at Audrey's feet, before moving on to track down the runaway civilians. "Are there more of you?" she asked him coldly. "What do you know of Elroy Seibert?"
---
Kalyn balked at the news, hunkering down behind the counter top. "This isn't like their usual stints, what do they want?" she hissed.
---
Alliser shook his head at Layla, mouth dry. He swiftly followed Levi out the door, coat forgotten on the sofa, as he sprinted out into the street. We're coming Zeke, stay put.
---
Lorenzo rolled himself across a table and pulled it up behind him as a makeshift barrier, hurling Sophia behind it as the bullets hit. The wood shuddered against the onslaught, but held firm. Then Rebels came pouring in. As one came up to the table, gun at the ready, Lorenzo dove forwards and tackled the soldier to the ground. Snatching up the firearm he hauled the Rebel up, gun pressed to his head. "Easy!" he called the patrol to a stop. "We're not looking for a fight here. Tell us what you want."
The patrol stood silent, before Jihun stepped out from behind the crowd. "There won't be any trouble," he uttered, as tendrils of vines began cracking up from beneath the floorboards. One coiled itself tightly around Lorenzo's leg, yanking him to the ground. He cried out as the vine snaked up his arms, pinning them against his body. He was helpless. "You're all going to come with us, and answer a few questions."
A shot fired, the window shattered, and Jihun howled as a bullet capped him in the knee. As he dropped to the ground, the bar erupted into chaos. Rebels swarmed forwards to constrain them as the patrons began to fight back.
---
Alliser raced through the back alley, hearing the commotion inside. Blood roared in his ears, as he ripped open the back door. He found Zeke covered out of sight behind the bar. Without casting a second glance at the others, he darted forwards, grabbing the slinger by the arm and pulled him outside. "Move, move Zeke, we've got to go!"
---
Ashley whistled lowly from the apartment roof across the street, reloading his bolt action rifle. Hefting it up on the ledge he cast his gaze around through the scope. The bar looked in turmoil, but he could see the one he had shot being pulled aside. He hummed as he took aim at another Rebel, dropping him instantly. This would be quick work.

Alan lit down on the roof top next to Ashley's and groaned. "Hughes! Are you the one causing all this ruckus!" he snapped, combing the static from his hair with a gloved hand. The Ranger leapt the gap between their roofs and landed beside him. "Or are you aiding?" he frowned and saw dead bodies in the street and what looked like a wounded musclehead being interrogated. "M Guns." he curled his lip in a growl. "Black-market, macho-mouthed, sonsabi--" he gathered static and power in his hands and sent an energy bolt down at the line of Reboot soldiers.
--
Rapid flinched from being thrown down, the mechanized bullet still twisting, trying to burrow deeper into his flesh the more he moved. "Augh! I don't know who Elroy is! I'm just a supply runner!" Rapid gasped in pain. He reached under the snow and felt a storm drain lid and hooked his fingers under it, ready to pull it up and use as a sheild, or a frisbee. He heard gunshots and screaming coming from Zeke and Lorenzo's bar. He tried to stand again but the bullet whirred deeper and sprayed the snow with fleck of red. He cried out with pain and sank back into the snow with a heavy crunch.

Ashley jumped, sending a bewildered look in Alan’s direction. “I hate when you do that,” he muttered, lifting the scope back to his eye. “I think I’m a good guy today, actually.” He grinned ferally, taking down another Rebel. “Look, I haven’t even killed anyone yet!” Ashley whistled lowly as Alan took decimated a good portion of their forces. “Like a one man army, you are. You’re making me look bad, go get your own rooftop.”
---
Audrey sighed, eyes flickering up at the bar at the noise, before stepping away from Rapid. “Finish him, Clay,” she ordered. “None of these idiots know anything.”

Zeke let out a loud shriek as someone grabbed his arm. It took until they were halfway out the door to realize it was Alliser. "Wh...we can't just leave them!" he squeaked, looking over his shoulder. "What about..." A choked gasp was ripped from his throat, seeing Lorenzo drop to the ground. "NO! Alliser, we have to help him!"
---
Brody was crouched in the corner, hiding under a bullet splintered table. His eyes darted around the room, fearfully. They were rounding people up. He'd straddled the fence so far just so he wouldn't get caught up in shit like this! He bit his lip and, out of the corner of his eye, spotted two people hurrying out the back door. The Rebels were occupied enough with taking down the others. If he could just slither out after them...Just then, someone grabbed his arm and yanked him up. "Get out here, you're comin' with us," a gruff voice growled, tugging him forward. Brody pulled back, quickly grabbing the man's bare arm with his own hand.
"You don't wanna do that," he purred. The man paused and looked back at him, his eyes wide and glazed over. With a grin, Brody continued. "You're looking for those guys, not me. You wanna let me go, don't you?" The man nodded and loosened his grip. "Atta boy, now go on." Brody patted the Rebel's cheek before turning and darting out the back door and into the alley.

Ashley watched the interaction in the alley, eyes narrowing at the two Rebels that followed out of the bar. He’d only have time to make the one shot, and he quickly took aim, squeezing the trigger at the hot one.
---
Alliser ignored Zeke, dragging him through the back alley. Hearing footsteps thundering after them, he whipped his head around to see a Rebel giving chase. “Shit,” he hisssed, binding Zeke’s hands together with sand. He turned, holding Zeke’s upper arm territorially, as he glowered at the Rebel. “State your business, grunt,” he demanded. “Or do you mean to tell me that you’ve mistaken me for some common insurgent?” He paused. “This one knows something about the technomancer. I’m taking him directly to Alfonse for questioning.”

Zeke's feet had stopped working, making Alliser's attempt to drag him out difficult. Before he knew it, Alliser was yanking his arms behind his back and fastening them together. Blindly, he looked around, finally focusing on the Rebel. The grizzly man scowled, his eyes flicking between the two of them.
"I'm supposed to be going after the both of you," he growled, his voice trailing off uncertainly. "I think..." Suddenly, a shot rang through the alley and the man from inside dropped to the ground. The Rebel tensed, backing away towards the protection of the bar. "Alright fine," he huffed. "Get him out of here. Alfonse will be pissed if we let anyone with info get away."
Brody snickered as he ducked past one Rebel, leaving him to focus on the other two, only to be blown back by a sharp pain in his shoulder. He let out a cry, flying backwards and falling hard on the cold concrete. "Oh what the fuck!" he groaned, holding his shoulder in agony.

Alliser blinked, shooting a glance at Zeke. "Alright then," he said, tugging him away. He didn't loosen the bindings. “Stop being so difficult,” he hissed in an undertone, wary of any other followers. “I’m trying to help you.”
---
Ashley sniggered, poking up from behind the ledge. “Rebel scum!” he cackled.

Zeke stumbled after Alliser, the shock slowly wearing off. "What about everyone else?" he hissed. "We're just abandoning them?" He glanced over his shoulder, his blood running cold, seeing the bodies littering the streets. "Why are they doing this? You guys already took over!"
--
Brody groaned and rolled over onto his side. Through his blurry gaze, he spotted a head popping up from behind a ledge. He blinked stupidly for a moment before scowling. "Hey haha fuck you!" he yelled back. He rolled onto his stomach and, with a sob, pushed himself up. "I'm not a goddamn rebel, you fucking idiot, god I hate you I'm dying." He whined and laid back down.

Alan snorted in annoyance at Ashley and sent a bolt straight into a large musclehead's back (clay) sending him to the floor. He stepped up and whistled for Audrey to get her attention. "Hey Ashley, new target. Crazy eyes down there." he jumped off the roof, pinging off the ledges until he hit the ground and ran into the fray to fight the mele.
--
Rapid reached out for the M Gun and crushed it shut with one fist before clawing his way up the sidewalk and hiding behind a half-buried car, trying to get out of the fight. He saw the Dairy Queen across the street and stumbled upright before dodging around Alan bowling down two half-tazed goons. He hurried into the Dairy Queen and crawled to the back to Dane. His whole right leg was covered in spreading blood stains and he was in so much pain he was worried he would black out, but he was the only one that knew Dane was hiding in the freezer. If he left him locked in there he'd die. He ripped the lock off and opened the door, leaning against the doorframe. "Dane." he panted. "Run. You gotta run home..."

Alliser craned his neck around the alleys corner, making sure the next street over was clear, before herding Zeke across it. "A prisoner of ours escaped," he told Zeke, leading him further from the centre of town. "They want him back very badly." Alliser eyed Zeke as they moved. "You don't really know anything about Elroy Seibert, do you?" He wouldn't put Zeke in danger for his knowledge, but perhaps they could stop the mayhem from escalating. They entered an industrial part of town, and Alliser lugged Zeke towards an old storage unit, whisking his sand into a makeshift lock pick to gain them access. The mechanism clicked, and Alliser rolled the door open, pushing Zeke inside. He hauled the heavy iron door shut. The unit was near pitch dark, the few dirty windows above offering no light. "They shouldn't come this far out of central, but I don't know how bad this is going to get," Alliser muttered, squinting to see Zeke in the darkness. "You're going to stay here, nice and safe, until it's over."
---
Ashley frowned at the man down in the street, cocking his head. "Hey, fuck you!" he shot back. He jumped down onto the fire escape, sliding down the stairs and rolled onto the street, ducking behind a Rebel as a civilian lashed out with a razor whip. The Rebel shrieked as the whip struck him, and Ashley shrugged, patting him on the shoulder before he was hoisted towards the crowd. He strolled up to the groaning non-Rebel, looking down at him. He had his handgun out instantly, tapping it on his hip as if debating something. "If you're not a Rebel, why were you associating with one?" Ashley asked, bending down to talk at his level. "Listen, I want to believe you, but it does make me look bad if I've just shot a civilian. Especially with Superman over there," he shot a scowl at Alan, probably saving babies from a fire or something.
---
Audrey snapped to attention, hearing Alan. Gritting her teeth, she blasted him with a gale force wind. The bastard had taken out too many of her Rebels so far, too many losses to report back to Alfonse without something to make up for it. Maybe a nice dead Ranger would even the score a little. "You picked a bad day to take me on, Ranger," she growled.

Alan hit the ground and slid across the slush before staggering upright. "Why? Lady troubles?" he cocked a brow. "I got a daughter and a wife, I think I can handle it." he sent a bolt at her face, missing her by inched and blasting a hole in the building behind her.
--
Further down the street Kate was pacing the kitchen worriedly, waiting for a Tpath from her dad. On the floor Angani was huddled close to Kaiser, half out of protection and half for comfort. The building trembled from a neighboring blast.
"I gotta go out there." Kate peered out the window. "My dad doesn't have the energy reserves to take on a whole army by himself! Yeah maybe back when this city was a giant power station to fuel lightning slingers but not now!" She looked at Kalyn. "Watch them." she started to squeeze through the window.
--
Down on the beach in the warehouse Emery was awoken by the sounds of gunfire and explosions in the city. Faint, but troubling. He woke up and hurried to Robert's lumpy bunk of tarps and blankets and shook his shoulder. "Robert! ROB-ERT! Wake up! Shit's hit the fan!"
--
Elroy woke up in the library attic in confusion. It was colder up here, darker, dustier. He saw Sheila and Johnny snoring in their little nest of blankets and got up, scanning the area. Attic of some sort. He saw the stairs leading back to the library and stretched warily before heading back down into the main building unknowingly.

Zeke stumbled into the dark room, his head still spinning with worry. He turned back to Alliser with a frown. "No, I don't know anything about Seibert, why would I? And neither does half of those people, I'm sure! So why are they out there...killing people! Alliser we can't just sit here and hide while everyone's out there dying for no reason!" He stared at him, his fists tightening and releasing before looking away and beginning to walk a tight circle. "Where's Levi and Layla? They're okay right? I'm such a stupid coward, why didn't I do anything? I just froze! God, I'm an idiot! They took Enzo and I didn't do anything! What's wrong with me!"
--
Brody continued to groan and whine face down on the ground. His head was spinning and it felt as if it weighed a million pounds when he lifted his gaze up to his assailant standing over him. "If you're not a Rebel, why were you...oh fuck." He heaved himself up and with a loud sob, pushed himself up. "I just wanted to get out of there. In case you didn't realize, shit's kinda hitting the fan 'round here." He rested back against the wall with a sigh. "I didn't do anything and now I'm dying. Because of you. If I die, I'm coming back and haunting your stupid ass."

Audrey leapt backwards as the bolt blew inches from her face, her hair standing on end. "And are they nice and safe, Ranger? I hope you've hidden them well, cause my boys are out there tossing all kinds of people out onto the street today. Let's hope your daughter isn't one of them," she grinned vilely, sending a burst of wind into the ground, forcing an icy spray into the air. Under the cover of the snow, she shot forwards, wreathing her fist in a cyclone, tearing towards Alan's midriff.
---
Kalyn shot forwards, grabbing Kate by her arm. "You're not seriously going out there alone," she asked, astonished. "If you're going, I am too."
---
Alliser saw Zeke's form pace forwards and back. "They're fine," he said. "Beth won't let me know what's happened to them, but I'm sure they're kicking ass at whatever it is they're doing. You know how perfect they are." He groaned at Zeke's diatribe, stepping forwards to grip his arm tightly. "Stop it," he hissed. "Don't twist yourself into knots over this. If you had stepped in at the bar, you would have been killed." He grit his teeth, willing Zeke to look at him. "Would you have done that to Levi?"
---
Ashley hummed. "That wasn't super convincing that you weren't a Rebel," he thought allowed, arms crossed. "But if you are, like, you're the worst one I've ever met. You know that's a shoulder wound, right? I didn't shoot to kill." He ran a hand through the groaning man's hair, tipping his head. "If I had, you'd be dead." He glanced behind them at the violence on the street. If the dude stayed here he'd be killed by either side eventually. "Can you climb up onto the fire escape? You've kind of caught me on the clock, babe."
