Kaiser awoke with a groan, stretching an arm above his head languidly in a wide yawn. Feeling warmth emanating from the other side of the bed, he stretched across the sheets to run a hand over his partner's back. Hearing Angani huff a breath in his sleep, Kaiser smiled softly, deciding to leave him be for the moment. There were only so many mornings the medic could sleep in. He carefully shifted himself from out under the covers, and left Angani where he lay, traversing the familiar territory of their bedroom. An idea forming in his mind, he quirked a delighted smile. Taking a quick snapshot of the apartment building, he made his way to the kitchen. It wasn't every day he could surprise his fiance with breakfast in bed!

Angani sighed and squinted at the dim light coming in from their blinds and rolled towards the wall. His body told him it was time to get up and go to work! Stupid body... It was his day off for a change and that meant sleeping in with Kai---where was Kaiser? He propped himself up on his elbow but that side of the bed was empty. He rested his hand on the empty sheets, still warm. He settled on his back and smushed the heels of his palms into his eyes trying to gather the energy to wake up. It didn't happen and he rested his hands on his bare stomach and let his eyes flutter closed as he heard the sounds in the kitchen and knew Kaiser was still in the apartment. He turned his face away from the light of the window and drifted back to sleep.

Kaiser scraped up the last slice of french toast from the pan, adding it to Angani's stack with a healthy dollop of ice cream and berries. Balancing the tray of food in one hand with the glass of fresh juice in the other, he cast his sonar as he trotted back towards the bedroom. Seeing Angani largely unmoved, he set the juice down on the bedside table, and the stack of syrupy toast on the bed. Crouching beside Angani's form, he pressed a quick kiss to his forehead. "Rise and shine beautiful, I made breakfast! Doesn't even smell burnt this time."

Angani smiled as he was awoken sleeping beauty style and stretched before hugging his arms around him and hugging Kaiser flat to his chest. "I thought you went to the gym. Come back and keep me warm." he teased. He squinted at the breakfast on the bedside table. "Though that does look amazing, but I'd have to let you go to eat it." he stroked his silky hair. "Decisions decisions."

Kaiser snickered, melting at the fingers running through his locks. He closed his eyes drowsily at the petting, lifting a shoulder in a shrug within Angani's arms. "Alright, but all my hard work will be wasted. I don't do this often, you should appreciate it more." Blowing a raspberry, he began struggling against his partners grip. "C'mon, I toasted it perfectly this time! Eat it while it's good!"

Angani groaned playfully and let him go before sitting up and setting the tray between them. "Thanks for cooking. I was surprised we still had food in the house, I been meaning to shop." he took a huge forkful. "But I'll never say no to icecream for breakfast. He fed some to Kaiser then wolfed down some more.
He shivered and tugged some blankets over his shoulders. "It snowing yet out there?"

Kaiser laughed, swallowing before he said, "Really? Christine pulled a face when I told her."
He bobbed his head up and down in the affirmative, snatching another bite from Angani. "Only lightly," he said around his mouthful, before washing it down with juice. "You're that cold already? You need a warm body in there with you." Digging himself under the covers, he pressed against Angani's shivering form, kissing his shoulder. "There, all better."

Angani set the tray safely on the table then rolled on top of him. "You know you're like a burning coal, right?" he snuggled his face into his neck playfully. "And I'm always freezing. Atlas forbid we never forget to pay the heating bill." He teased his fingers with Kaiser's hair. "Why is it on my days off I have you all to myself yet I can't even drag myself out of bed in the morning to spend the day with you?"

Kaiser laughed, wheezing as Angani rolled on top of him. "I'd never do that to you," he swore solemnly, dragging his hand up Angani's arm. "I know warmth comes before food, I learnt this early." He gave him a chaste kiss, before pulling back, dull eyes flashing with mischief. "I've got an idea. Put a jacket on for me and help me practice outside? We can go out on the roof."

Angani's face flashed to nervousness for a heart beat. "Ok." he rolled off and changed into some warmer clothes, though anything was warmer than his boxers he supposed. He bundled up and helped Kaiser into his old Silver Wings leather jacket.
"Its freezing up here!" he chattered as they walked across the rooftop and looked over the patchy clouds and bleak sun. "How can you want to practice in this?"

Kaiser laughed, shivering a little in the cool air. "The plan is to warm a little with the exercise." Hopping from foot to foot, he took a nervous scan of the area, before jumping into the air. His take-off a little rusty, he wobbled in the air slightly, throwing his arms out in wide circles to stabilise himself. It frustrated him that flying wasn't as effortless as it used to be, but there was something in the challenge of having to relearn the skill. Dipping around in the air for a minute to warm up, he finally floated up towards Angani. "Alright, hurl that beanie baby at me," he instructed, pointing at someone's forgotten doll on the roof. "Don't be scared to use a little force, the trickier the catch the better."

Angani rubbed his hands together, despite behind covered in mittens, he was still freezing .He picked up the raggedy pink pig and looked up at him. "Be careful ok? You make me so nervous up here..." he tossed it at his head with light force as the wind picked up and blew his hair sideways.
High above them, another member of the Silver Wings was flying his route and adjusted his goggled to zoom in on the pair below. Angel smiled and turned to aim towards them, sneaking up on Kaiser to help test his skill.
Angani saw Angel starting to near and his eyes widened. He knew Angel wouldn't hurt him, but he still worroed about startling Kaiser out of the air... and off a building.

Kaiser heard the hitch in Angani's breath as he threw the doll, taking a quick snap of the area to locate the missile. He darted forward to scoop up the beanie baby in the air, huffing a laugh at Angani's sad throw, when he picked up an incoming object. Wheeling around in the air, he cast about with his sonar to identify what it was flying towards them. Thrown off balance by the unexpected visit, he spun around in clumsy circles, laughing at Angel as he tried to stop his somersaulting. "Angel!" he called. "Trying to sneak up on the blind guy, huh? That's low!" Finally coming to a slow stop, he floated higher in the air to greet him. "What can we do for you? Up for a round of catch?"

Angel laughed and pulled the breaks before he would have slammed into him. "Just seeing if you're as sharp as you claim!" He nodded a hello to Angani.
Angani waved. "Hey Angel."
Angani pushed his goggles up and folded his arms. "Still rockin' the old jacket?" he patted Kaiser's shoulder. "Council's changing the logo again. Looks Zeus-awful." he gagged.
Angani stuck his hands in his pockets as they tossed the beanie baby back and forth. He wished he could fly...

Kaiser snorted. "Of course I am! You think I'd lie about something like that? In a couple weeks time I'll even be best on the force again, watch me!" He spun in the air in a flamboyant move to catch the beanie, before throwing it with gusto towards Angel. He groaned at the news, spinning idly in the air. "Sometimes I think I'm blessed to be blind. I don't need to see the reputation of the Silver Wings tarnished by the council's design team." Noticing Angani falling silent, he turned in his direction. "You okay over there babe? Cold?"
