Angani blushed at the pet names. He was still shy in front of other people. Not that he was ashamed, just shy. Angel and Kaiser were old friends, he felt a little out of place around them. He couldn't fly and had no force stories.
"I'm fine." he smiled, tugging his hood up to keep his ears warm.
Angel tossed the beanie at Kaiser's gut sneakily. "If you're cold Baiker, this guy's so full of hot air he'll keep you warm all winter!"
Angani laughed and shook his head.
Angel socked Kaiser's shoulder. "Hey, I heard there's some sort of scuff happening near the school later. You wanna come and school those preps on how to really fly?"

Kaiser rolled with the beanie to his gut, flipping backwards through the air as he let out a mock groan. "Cheeky shot!" he laughed, before spinning to throw the beanie Angani's way. Brightening at Angel's invitation he dipped through the air before shooting up and flipping. "Of course I do, you know how much I love showing off. What time is it?" He cocked his head at Angani, belatedly thinking to check with him. "What d'you say, up for a show?"

Angani nodded. "Sounds like fun, but I need to grab some more layers." he laughed.
Angel smirked. "What do you say we fly over there?" he elbowed Kaiser. "Think you can make it that far?"
Angani's smile vanished nervously. That was a long way to go, AND over the bay. He felt nervous for him. "Oh..." he started and stopped. He didn't want Kaiser thinking he was being too protective. Though the thought of him flying solo over the bay did scare him. Even if Angel was there.

Kaiser smiled helplessly at Angani. "Put your thermals on, they should be lying in the hamper of fresh clothes by the bed." Turning as Angel spoke he swelled with pride and the thought of a challenge. "'Course I can, I could do that distance in my sleep!" he boasted. Then he furrowed his brow. "Oh, but Angani won't be able to come with me that way..."

Angel smirked. "Well, I could carry him."
Angani blanched. "No thanks!" he squeaked. He shook his head. He was afraid enough as it was of Kaiser flying, the thought of being carried high over the tops of buildings was a terrifying thought. "Hon, you uh, you go with Angel." he smield weakly. "Have fun. I'll catch a cab and meet you there."

Kaiser scratched at his head. The challenge had his metaphorical wings itching to go for it, but he hated the though of leaving Angani to catch up to him on foot. He winced at Angani, the dare too enticing to pass up. "If you're sure?" He floated out across the roof top, hovering beside Angel. "I've got my cell on me, give me a call if anything happens? I'll see you real soon though, promise." Swooping back in at the last minute, he ducked in for a quick kiss. "And don't worry about me, I'll be fine." With a cheeky smile, he scanned the area with sonar and flung himself out into the open sky. "Race you there, Angel!"

Angani smiled up at him as he took off and looked over at Angel. "PLEASE keep him safe." he murmured. Angel gave him a a salute and shot off after his crazy comrad.
Angani changed into warmer clothes then headed down to the street below. So much for a day off, he was heading back to work anyway. Oh well, it was worth it to see that joy on Kaiser's face and with Angel there he knew he'd be ok. If only that would stop him from worrying.
He hailed cab and got in, they headed towards the Academy bridge. (to Academy thread)

On the other side of the city, Rapid was helping the elderly Ms. Yang get ready for the lunch rush at her Chinese Restaurant. He swept from the front walkway clear of fallen leaves and trash before ducking to squeeze his massive frame into her tiny shop.
Ms. Yang gushed over him like a grandmother and handed him a doggybag of takeout food for his pay and he headed out towards the park to meet Dane.

Audrey pressed her foot to the accelerator, keenly aware of how close they were now to the police station. Her hands gripped the steering wheel, giddiness building up inside her. The van pulled into an empty side street, and she killed the switch. Jumping out into the street, she gave two quick thumps to the side of the van, before standing guard at the rear.
We're close. One block away.

Alfonse was back in the woods in camp but her heard Audrey's t-path loud and clear. He smiled and responded back:
Good, make yourself scare. I may need you to cause a commotion to concentrate the Commandos out on patrol. Still got eyes out looking for the Rangers, haven't seen them lately so keep your wits.
Alfonse left his trailer and climbed up the watch tower they had rigged to a tall hemlock tree. He nodded to the sentry at the top and scanned the skies. Silver Wings patrols seldom flew too far from the city. Rangers were less predictable, and more dangerous solo Commandos with Big powers that scouted away from the heart of the City for days or weeks at a time. They didn't advertise their presence they could be anyone. Alfonse knew better, they had once caught a Ranger under cover in their midst. Luckily they found out quickly and had them killed before any plans got back to the Council. All the same, they were more alert now.

Audrey responded with an affirmative, tension coiling in her belly. She waited for the two Commandos to start towards the station, before heading towards what she knew would be a crowded street a few blocks over. A few rebels that had sat in the back seat of the van tagged along behind her, waiting for her signal. If Alfonse needed a commotion, he would have one. As they neared the market plaza, Audrey signalled for the grunts to split up and wait around the perimeter, knowing well that they would blend in seamlessly. With a carefully crafted smile, she ordered a coffee at a roadside van, and took a seat.

Across town a speck appeared in the sky above the huge black pyramid council building. The four flyer guards on the corners all looked up but a T-Path had them hold their positions as the figure barreled out of the sky towards the outer walls. The hooded figure flared their arms out and were surrounded by a sparkling ball of static before they landed hard on the top of the wall. THe figure stood up, brushing static from their robes and pulling off their flight mask.
"Where have you been!" A cross woman's voice called from the elevator doorway and Lilah falconer strolled outside.
"Where haven't I been." Alan turned around scratching at his long, wavy hair, crimped oddly from being jammed under the flight helm. "Been scouting the woods on the far side of the Bay for 8 days. Nothing out there."
"And you never thought to send a T-path or a transmission?" Lilah folded her arms, face stern. "You know, I actually do worry about you."
Alan smirked and walked over. "I missed you too."
Lilah tried to hold her stern comosure but it melted and gave him a peck on the cheek. "I think you missed a few showers too. Go get cleaned up so we can meet with our Captains."
"Do I have to?" Alan groaned.
"Yes!" Lilah tugged him by the collar into the elevator.
