Sheila gapsed and held on to Johnny as Nailah threw Elroy back down.
Elroy winced, baring his teeth. "I never asked for these powers!" he hissed. "And now they're gone!" he grabbed her wrist. "And you're not telling me something, cause you broke me out IN THE FIRST PLACE!" he snapped. "You could have killed me or left me there but you didn't. So what. Do. You. Want." he rasped. In his heart, he was dying. He had no way to reverse the outcome. Loads of people dead because of him. He couldn't take it back. Even if he ended his life now it couldn't be undone...
--
Alan managed to patch Angani up. He wasn't hurt bad, his cuts were shallow and even the cut on his cheek had stopp bleeding. Alan wrapped him in a blanket and tended to Kaiser. He kept asking Angani for medical help but Angani was a trembling, terrified mess and couldn't help him.
Kate tried to help her dad the best he could. "How do we get them back??" she asked worriedly.
"We don't." Alan grunted. "We're staying here until Kaiser's well enough to move. There should be enough supplies to keep us safe for now. Round up some wood for the fire place." he turned to Kaiser. "Almost used up all the guaze but you're not bleeding anymore, think you can make it to the bed to rest?"
Kate turned to Kalyn and after glancing over her should at her preoccupied dad she tugged up her coat to show the four inch slice in her side. "I'll be fine." she whispered to her. "I'll just put a towel on it for now and it'll be ok. Besides, dad'll flip, don't tell him." she mouthed.

Nailah heaved, breath coming out ragged. "I wanted you to know," she hissed. "I wanted you to feel the remorse you deserve to feel. I had to make sure you understood why you need to die." There came a huge crash from outside, and the boat was hurled sideways. Johnny wrapped his arms tightly around Sheila as they were thrown across the room, crying out as his shoulder dug into the upturned leg of a chair. Nailah planted her feet, prepared for the blast by Tpath from Audrey. She grimaced, grabbing Elroy by the scruff and throwing him out the door, following close behind.
Audrey hurled orders at the soldiers to reload and continue their barrage on the boat. She watched as Nailah flung Elroy over the edge of the boat and into the snow drift. "Get him back to the base," Audrey yelled at her as Nailah landed beside the technomancer. "We'll keep the water slinger occupied here."
---
Kaiser groaned, nodding his head stiffly. "Thank you," he murmured. "I'm sorry for the trouble." He pushed himself up from the ground on shaking arms. Kalyn slid a hand under his shoulder, helping him up and leading him to the bed. Kaiser collapsed on the mattress, the movement sparking another shard of pain through his back. Kalyn grew ashen at the gash across Kate's side. "A blanket's not gonna be enough," she hissed, mindful of Alan. "It'll get infected and then he'll flip out worse."
Just then, Kaiser began moaning. "Angani? Where's Angani? I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me, I'm sorry..." Kalyn sighed, grateful for the distraction. "D'you want to help these two out?" she asked Alan. "Kate and I are going to do a sweep of this level, make sure no other bogeys are hanging around. If there's any trouble we'll send straight for you." She looked at Kate pointedly.

Dane looked at the man, eyes wide with bewilderment. He was dirty and rugged--the opposite of everything he was used to. Which reminded him of how he must look, huddled in this grungy bar. He pulled a face and straightened himself up. "That...would be nice."
--
Zeke followed Lorenzo closely, angling himself so his boyfriend stood between him and Alliser. He wanted to disappear into the ground. How the hell had this happened? Of all the places to be, he had to come into his bar? The city wasn't that small! He lingered by the table, unable to hear what the others were saying. He just kept chancing tiny glances towards Alliser, each time sending him back into a miserable, embarrassed panic.
Levi looked up at his brother who was staring at the ground with a shot glass in his hand. He looked around at the others before grabbing Zeke's free hand and tugging him down into a chair. "That'd be great, buddy," he told Enzo. "I think these kids got a lot to catch up on." He flashed a grin at his brother, though it was slightly soured by a hint of concern. "C'mon now, drink that up. You look weird."
Zeke shook out of his shock enough to give his brother a glare. He brought the glass to his lips and tipped it into his mouth, shuddering at the taste, before slumping back in his chair with his arms crossed protectively over his chest.

Elroy hit she snow with a gasp. He was more or less in pajamas and didn't even have shoes on. He saw Audrey and looked towards Nailah. "You're crazy if you think I'm going back there." he coughed, clawing his way to the edge of the dock. He peered down into the dark water beneath the ice. If they wanted to take him, then they wouldn't be taking him alive...
Sheila clung to Johnny as the house boat rocked and pitched. She grabbed Bobby off the ground and held him close, he wouldn't stop snarling and barking at the others. Sheila clapped a hand over his muzzle to quiet him. "Shh!" she looked desperately at Johnny. What were they going to do??
A high pitched whistle sound came from outside and a big metal mailbox hurled through the air and clobbered a minion to Audrey's left. Sights followed the line of projection and saw a short young man standing at the base of the dock on the land-side.
"Thought you cowards were sticking to the island." Emery spread his hand and raised a cluster of massive, barnacle encrusted boulders in the air around him. "Get the fuck off my beach." he sent the rocks flying towards them all.
--
Alan sighed. "I'm no medic. I'm just trying to stop the bleeding and the shock." he turned and looked towards Angani int he living room, huddled and shaking. He didn't know what had happened, but he looked terrified. Alan walked over and helped him to his feet. "Come on kid." he murmured and led him back to Kaiser. "You're safe, get some rest." he helped him settled beside Kaiser.
Angani winced and curled up tight on his side before inching closer to Kaiser, trying to feel safer.
Kate nodded with a smile. "C'mon lets go!" she hissed and flew out the open window to check for more intruders.
--
Rapid mixed the young man a new drink and set it in front of him awkwardly. He glanced down the bar, his boss seemed like he was having a rough time. He wondered if he should step in but he couldn't gather the nerves to interrupt. He folded his massive arms and looked at the floor. He should leave, this place was making him squirmy with so many strangers...

Lorenzo nodded mutely, taking his leave. Clearly they had some things to work through, and it seemed bad enough that it rendered Zeke completely mute. He sighed, shrugging his jacket on as he stepped out into the snow. He'd go on patrol, keep his mind occupied enough that he wouldn't have to think on what he'd find when he got back.
Alliser watched the man leave, feeling Zeke's eyes on him the whole time. Even with the alcohol thrumming through his veins, his chest felt tight with nervousness. He looked at the empty shot glasses and sighed, before mimicking Zeke's pose. He glanced up at him uncertainly. "Hello, Zeke," he said quietly. "You've done well for yourself, I see." He pulled a sour face then, tugging at the collar of his shirt. "Well. As well as you can in an apocalypse, I suppose."
---
Nailah snorted, wrenching Elroy up by his collar. "I'm not taking you back to the base," she spat. "You deserve to burn. I'll deal with you myself, if no one else will." Damn the consequences. She began to march him further inland, spiriting them away amid the chaos. He would see her before he died, so that he could feel an ounce of the torment she felt.
Johnny braced himself against the upturned table, and began stumbling his way to the door as the boat came to a rocking stop. Running out onto the deck, he saw they were surrounded by Rebel soldiers. And then there came the flying mailbox.
Audrey snapped to attention as the soldier beside her was decked by the mailbox. As the boulders came hurling at them, she snarled, whipping her hands up in a defensive air bubble around herself. Several Rebels cried out in pain as they were crushed beneath their weight, but she spared them no thought as she clapped her hands in a concussive wave, hurled straight towards the boy on the docks. The ice around her boots began to split and crack, and she lurched backwards as a frigid black wave broke through, sweeping up most of her forces and pulling them back into the water. Her eyes locked on to Johnny from the boat, his mouth twisted in a grimace. "You heard the kid!" his voice echoed over the open expanse. "This is our territory."
---
Kalyn nodded, scooping up the leftover gauze and tape as she followed Kate from the room. She hauled herself up the fire escape and began her patrol. When you're done clearing the area, I'll get you patched up before we go back.

Elroy gasped and tried to stay upright as she dragged him away from the beach. He thought he heard a voice of one of his past students but it was drowned out as a fight happened on the docks. He fought to control his dead-tired limbs and grabbed a piece of pipe on the ground, clocking Nailah upside the head. He tore from her grip and rand down the street, turning the corner he fell int he deep snow and looked up with a gasp, seeing the obsidian statue of Molly crying out in pain. His heart tore as he pulled himself closer to her and stood up. "Molly..." he murmured weakly, brushing snow from her face. He hovered his hand over her. She couldn't be dead... this couldn't be happening. "Molly no..." he sank to his knees in the snow. "I should have been here." he shut his eyes tight as they flooded with hot tears. "I never should have let her hurt you..."
--
Emery dropped more rocks around the ice, shattering it and leaving the remaining Reboot stranded on cracking floes. He walked out further onto dock and stretched out a ratty-gloved hand and lifted two musclehead men off the ice floe and dropped them int o he frigid water. "Get lost." he snapped, black veins starting to appear etchily on his cheeks.
--
Kate nodded and scoped the rest of the building. Apart from a few cats that Kate immediately fed and petted, there were no one else around. She sat on the couch in a different apartment. "Thanks for getting here so fast, I hope the guys are ok..."

Nailah swore as her head snapped sideways, pain bursting through her head. She lifted a hand to touch at the injury, fingertips coming away red with blood. She grit her teeth, and followed Elroy's footsteps in the snow. She came to him kneeling in front of Molly's statue, her heart contorting in agony. How badly she hated him touching her..."I gave her a painless death," she said stonily behind him, eyes locked onto Molly's. "She deserved better than that. Better than you."
---
Johnny sucked the men beneath the water so that they couldn't resurface, watching Audrey. She was a powerful slinger in her own right, but with the both of them here, she would have to back down.
Audrey agreed. Taking a last look at her dwindling forces, she raised an arm in retreat. "Get back to the base," she snapped, loathing twisting her features.
---
Kalyn shrugged, rinsing out a clean enough looking rag and kneeling in front of Kate. She set the gauze beside her. "Had to keep up with your old man, he's quicker than he looks," she looked up at her wryly. "They'll be fine. I mean, guy's blind. If he can get up for work after that, he can probably rebound off a stab wound easy." She blushed as she looked at the blood sodden stain on Kates side. "Um. Your shirt, you're going to have to...can you lift it for me?"

Kate nodded and tugged it off, shivering fromt he bite of the cold. "He as long as he doesn't find out about this I'm good. Well, not good, still grounded for ever but hey, without him knowing this I gotta good shot of weekends free int he afterlife." she laughed.
Angani managed to collect himself enough to sit up after half an hour and looked over Kaiser's bandages, correcting little problems here and there. He dug through his back and smeared a generous amount of disinfectant over the wounds then redressed them to his standard. He sighed shakily and hugged his knees close, trying to calm his jitters. "K-Kaiser are you feeling ok?" he asked weakly. "I could f-find some more meds..."
--
Emery flipped Audrey a double bird then leaned against the pyling for the dock, exhausted from using his powers so much. He glanced over at Johnny. "So what was that all about." he rubbed his nose, hoping it wasn't bleeding.
--
Elroy rubbed her eyes. "You STILL killed her! Why even go through the effort, why even bother her if you knew what side you were on, what side she was on." he looked up at her. "She would have never stood for that." he stood up shakily. "You killed her 'cause your hate for me outweighs your love for her. You know it." he turned and looked at her darkly. "So go ahead, kill me." he spread his arms. "I'm done running. But you killing me won't even bring her back or make you any less of a horrible disgusting disgrace of a person." he turned to look at Molly. "I'm sorry Molly." he shut his eyes. "I'll see you on the other side..."

Kalyn sniggered, keeping her eyes firmly on the wound as her blush deepened. It was a long cut, but didn't look too deep. She pressed the rag gently around the slash, trying to clean it as best she could. "I can understand feeling cooped up," she said. "My brother's the overprotective type too. They mean well, it's just..." She blew the hair out of her eyes, reaching for the gauze. "A little trust wouldn't hurt." She pressed the scraps of gauze into a patch and held it against the wound. "Can you hold this for me while I stick it down?" she asked, lifting the tape.
---
Johnny rushed over to Emery, seeing that his veins had blackened from overuse of his powers. It seemed it was a day for people getting hurt. "We found Elroy! He'd escaped from the Rebel base and he tried to walk across the ice towards the docks..." his voice fell as his head whipped around. "Oh, shit. Sheils!" he yelled into the boat house. "Did anyone see where Elroy went?"

Zeke forced a stiff smile, but it vanished within seconds. He tightened his arms across his chest and looked around, praying for something to get him out of this. "Thanks. You're...looking...good too..." There was a tiny, half stifled squeak of delight. He glanced over at Layla and Levi, who were watching with round, excited eyes. He grit his teeth and while Levi's smile only grew, Layla seemed to realize they were in hot water.
"Ahh...you know. We'll just leave you kids alone and let you catch up." She hesitated, as if second guessing her retreat before standing up. "Come on Levi, let's go...over there."
He looked up at her, his face falling. "What no...I wanna...fine." He looked back at the others with a grin. "You two have fun," he laughed before following his wife to a table further away.
Zeke felt mixed relief and dread watching them walk away. Now it was just them...He nervously looked over at Alliser, his heart in his throat. "So....how the hell did you meet my brother? I mean, you're a....work friend, I'm assuming?" There was a slight accusatory edge to his voice. "Never figured you'd get mixed up with something like that. Course, I never thought Levi would either so..."
---
Robert quickened his pace, hearing the familiar sounds of fighting coming from the beach. He spotted the retreating rebel forces and, though he itched to barrel in and start a fight of his own, he skirted around them. "What the hell?" he demanded as he reached the dock. "What happened?" His gaze fell on Emery and his throat tightened with worry. "Are you hurt? What happened??" he demanded again, his voice sharp.

Sheila hurried out on the dock. "Towards Main street. You go I'll patch him up." she helped Emery stand straight.
"M' fine lets go!" Emery took off running down the dock past Robert and Johnny, though his body was weak from he itched to keep fighting under all that scum was driven back onto the island.
Sheila shared a concerned look with Johnny and Robert then turned to run down the beach. "I'll get ahold of the others!" she headed down the frozen beach towards the warehouse.
--
Elroy winced and sat in the snow at Molly's feet. He winced and dug one of the sharp rocks out of the snow. Obsidian, sharp, shiny and beautiful. Made from cooled magma.... cooled magma. Maybe if he could reheat the magma... Molly could reform! Like a phoenix!
"Phoenix..." he breathed and stood up to face Molly. "You're a phoenix..." his eyes widened.

Alliser leant his arms on the table, keeping them crossed defensively. "We haven't seen each other in years, Zeke, how could you possibly know what I'd be interested in these days," he retorted hotly. "Kian's some hotshot with the Rebels now, I wasn't going to be caught on the wrong side of him." He played with one of the shot glasses, twirling it in his palm to keep himself occupied. He eyed the door Lorenzo had ducked out of earlier. A cruel smirk lit his face. "Who is he to you?" he jeered. "He seems to think he knows you quite well. But I know better." He curled his mouth into a sardonic grin. "He wouldn't let himself get nearly so lost in those doe eyes of yours, if he knew he was just your temporary plaything."
---
Johnny nodded to Sheila, before taking off after Emery.
---
Nailah grabbed him by his collar. "Enough," she seethed. "Its time I ended this." She punched him, feeling gratified as her knuckles connected with his nose.

Elroy grunted and sprayed blood into his hands he staggared a few paces back. "Shut up Nailah I'm trying to think!" he swore and leaned against Molly's stature for support. His feet burned from standing in the snow. He tried to avoid Nailah's swings as he examined Molly. Obsidian. "I might be able to save her!" he wiped blood on his sleeve. "She's obsidian!"
Emery slid around the corner and spotted Nailah punch his old professor. He gritted his teeth and picked up a huge hunk of cement from a demolished corner store. His veins stood out black and raised as he raised it to lob at Nailah.
Elroy saw and shouted. "Don't! Don't you'll shatter her!" he jumped in front of Molly, arms spread in defense.
--
Rapid ducked behind the counter and poured himself a drink, feeling awkward and dumb. He tossed it back and checked on his supply bag. Still there, still good.

Zeke rolled his eyes and looked away. "That's not surprising," he muttered. "You always let Kian push you around." His skin was crawling with discomfort. Part of him was screaming, telling him to grow up. That this didn't need to be such an awkward reunion. They were both adults, and what happened between them happened a long time ago. Until he heard Alliser's last words. He jerked his head back towards him, his face hot. "Leave him out of this," he growled defensively. The wood beneath his hands was starting to singe. "We were dumb kids...we were scared and stupid and..." He shook his head, struggling through his frustration and anger to find the right words. "It's not like we were gonna get married."
---
Dane watched the man fix his drink out of the corner of his eye while keeping his head tilted up proudly. When he was done, he took the glass and sipped it. "Thank you," he murmured finally. He looked him up and down before saying, "You should probably make yourself another one. You could stand to relax a little."
---
Robert huffed through his teeth, his head pounding with irritation, but he took off after Emery.

Alliser rolled his eyes with an acerbic smirk. His gaze flitted to where the wood had begun to blacken beneath Zeke's hands. "Just as easy to rile up as always, I see," he rested his chin in his palm. "It was a long time ago, Zeke. I'd completely forgotten about it until this unhappy little reunion." He began to scratch at the wood, carving a sad face with his nail. "I hope you haven't blamed my father and Kian for what happened between us, all this time. Understand that I did what I thought was necessary." He looked at Zeke square in the eye. "You were a scared little boy, and I was tired of being your dirty little secret."
---
Nailah snarled at Elroy, ready to swipe at him again, when her attention was drawn to the young telekinetic standing at the other end of the street.
Johnny skid in behind Emery, slipping on the icy pavement, arms flailing as he caught himself. "You guys are fast," he panted, bracing himself on his knees. "Now come on, let's put this whole thing to bed and grab some hot coco. Sheila taught me how to make a pretty good one!"
Nailah ignored Johnny, feeling her form begin to dissipate. She wouldn't win this fight, not outnumbered as she was. But something held her there. "What are you rambling on about, you moron?" she snapped at Elroy.
