"Yes, and around the same time I find you lurking about in the shadows. I hope its just a coincidence." Alfonse walked closer, crunching through the crust in the snow, red eyes narrowed. "Although, I don't believe life is so careless to cause coincidences. So what are you doing back here. You deserted us, I'm surprised they haven't put your head on a spike on the beach yet. Though, the night is young." He paused a pace in front of him, looming over him. "But I don't have a reason to kill you. In fact, I'm glad you're here. Walk with me." he turned and headed back to the center of the courtyard.

As Alfonse grew closer, Nico pressed harder against the wall, his eyes widening. He felt like a mouse, trapped by a hungry cat. His skin crawled and he looked down, avoiding his red gaze. The logic in his words made his head spin. How stupid could he be, coming back here now? After all...now it was abundantly clear, he wasn't on anyone's side anymore. He was alone. That realization dropped like a stone in his stomach. After a moment hesitation, he pushed off the wall and followed, staying a few paces behind him.

"When I assigned you this mission I wanted you close to monitor Seibert, the Academy, their connection with the Commandos and the Council. A lot of information to keep ahold of. I was worried you had gone native, that you wouldn't be able to hack the final challenge but you did. So yes, it seems Seibert did escape. However, he did have help from a Reboot member it seems. Someone in my ranks is a rat. I'm pretty sure I know who it is, but that doesn't matter. What matters is keeping the grid down and keep pressure on the Council. The Council, even now they're hunkered in their secret bunker while their city freezes and starves out the winter. I need to find them, I believe Seibert and former staff know how to find the Council and their most precious resources. I need to force their hand, you see. Its no use taking over the city if all the citizens die. Once I find my way to the council's labrynth I can finally start making positive changes for the people, not this husk the City has crumbled into." he turned around. "I need you to go back under cover and weed Siebert and his friends out. Find the way into the council's bunkers and relay it back to me." he folded his arms behind his back.

Nico kept his eyes fixed on the ground as he listened. The cold numbness began to replace the fear and dread in his veins, hearing what he'd done relayed back again. He nearly bumped into Alfonse when he stopped and scrambled back, finally looking back up at him. After a moment of staring at him in bewilderment, he looked away again. "What, this paradise wasn't part of your grand plan?" he muttered impulsively. A chill of fear gripped his heart, stilling his tongue. "Sorry..." He shoved his hands into the pockets of his coat. "Why me? I mean, it's not like...it's not like Siebert's gonna trust me anymore." He struggled to steady his breath. "He'll kill me soon as he lays eyes on me. And I'm sure he's been quick to let people know what I did. They're never gonna trust me!"

Alfonse's eyes flashed at Nico's jab then his face curled into an unsettling smile. "You know what, you're right. There's no reason to keep you around anymore." he squeezed twin switch blades behind his back and lunged forward, knocking Nico into the snow, blades crossed in front of his throat. "No use for nay-sayers."

Nico's yelp was cut off as he hit the ground hard. He struggled against the man, freezing as the cold metal touched his skin. "No...no wait!" he begged, his hands clutching at Alfonse's arms. Shaking, he couldn't take his eyes off his reflection in the long blades. "Look...I'll get them to trust me. I did it once before! I can do it again! Please, I'll do whatever you want!"

Alfonse let his blade nick Nico's ear, letting the blood bead onto the edge. "I know, I'll make sure of it." he lapped up the blood drop and his eyes glowed red as he took control. "Come on little puppet." he stood up. "I'll need more vials to ensure the longevity of this plan..." he turned and led the way back to the greenhouse.

Nico winced at the cut and started to scramble to get up before suddenly, all the resistance left his body. He got up, feeling like a ghost in his own body. Frantically, he tried to move his arms, his legs, speak, scream, anything. But instead he just calmly followed Alfonse. Desperately, he tried to take back the reins of his own body as they neared the Greenhouse. He couldn't go back there. Especially not like this. Memories of that night that he had been keeping bottled up flashed before his eyes. Elroy giving himself up to protect him, his body falling to the ground. Then following Alfonse as blindly as Nico was now. He couldn't do this. He had to run away. But now he couldn't even look away.

Alfonse didn't talk while he was taking more of Nico's blood for reassurance and storing it in the cooler. He didn't have to, he was in Nico's mind making him stay still. Afterwards he walked him down to the beach near the ice and released his hold on him. "Setting you free now. I'll be checking in from time to time." his eyes flashed. "Go on then, shoo."

Nico felt as if the ropes that had been holding him suddenly dropped away and he staggered back, falling on the sand. Scrambled away from Alfonse, his entire body shaking. "Ok...I'm going..." he whimpered, struggling to his feet only to fall back down. "W-where should I start? How do I find him...?"

"I suggest finding Nailah, or Audrey. Wherever they went. If not I'm sure you can start raiding the safe houses." Alfonse check the sky. "In any case try not to get yourself caught, and don't go spilling your guts to anyone or I may be tempted to perform some long distance harikari." he smirked. "Have fun, I'll be checking in this evening." he turned and headed back up the stone steps back up to school calling over his shoulder. "I'll be watching and listening."

Nico watched him leave, waiting until he was gone before crumpling to the ground in a fit of shivers. He felt so raw and used. Like he needed to scrub himself clean to get Alfonse's strings out of him. How was he going to do this? He was a dead man either way.

Audrey carted the prisoners through the campus square, face covered in blood. Her entire body ached, riddled with bullets and bruised bones, the wound on her face numb from the cold air. Boss, we have someone you might want to see, she shot at Alfonse, throwing a venomous look at Alan. It’s not Seibert, but it might be the next best thing.
Ashley whistled from where he had been thrown over Hana’s shoulder, head swaying as he surveyed the campus. “It’s just like being back at high school,” he said airily. “There are the nerds, those are the jocks, the stoners, and with that fashion, they’re clearly artists. You’ve got everybody up here!”
Hana fought a smile, bumping her shoulder in warning to make him shut up. He was taking kidnapping far too easily.
Jihun shot an unimpressed look at Ashley, hobbling alongside Hana on a crutch.
“Look, hey, I did shoot you. But that guy turned you into his bitch, so I mean, what’s worse?” Ashley pointed at Brody, before gasping in realisation. “I forgot who you work for. Of course you like being people’s bitch! My mistake.”

Alan rolled his eyes at Ashley. Didn't the kid ever shut his trap? He looked up to see Alfonse crossing the courtyard. So that was the jackass responsible for this whole mess. He sent a Tpath to Lilah, telling her where he was, telling her he was face to face with Alfonse, and telling her to keep away from the island at all costs. Tie Kate up if she had to. He tossed his head to move hair from his face and glared at Alfonse as he approached.
"Who're they?" Alfonse kicked Ashley's boot as he scanned them. "They don't look very promising." he looked at Audrey's wounds. "Though they gave you a clobbering so I could be wrong. Why'd you bring them back here?" He cleaned off the blade he'd used on Nico. "Extract some information on the Council's bunker?"
Alan's eyes flickered. Crap. He knew exactly what Alfonse wanted. And he wasn't sure how he was going to go about getting it. But he had a feeling it would be nasty.

Ashley tutted, righting his foot and raising a brow at Alfonse. “You don’t look so scary,” he muttered. “Give me a gun and I’ll show you how promising I can be.”
Audrey silenced him with a glare, before returning her eyes to Alfonse. “This one is the Ranger, Alan Pike. Partner to Lilah Falconer. He’s bound to know something.” She smirked savagely. “But I was thinking, what better way to get Seibert back than to have him handed to us? We use him, and these civilians, as hostages to barter for the technomancer. I don’t reckon Seibert has many friends on the other side, they’ll be looking for any reason to give him up.”
Ashley laughed snidely. “I don’t know if you know the guy, but he has like, two friends. And they’re both family members.” He pointed both thumbs at himself. “Me, on the other hand, people love me. For sure, they’ll give you what you want.”
Lorenzo was bound up with a small party of other civilians, rounded up and brought in as the Rebels had swept the city. He saw a few children with them, knew the situation for what it was. A lesson, to anyone that dared to fight back. They were all going to be brought to heel under Alfonse’s dominion.
