Molly turned hearing Nailah's voice, thinking she was in trouble but magma heat had her vision severely blurred. She saw Nailah's face come into view then stinging pain in his wrist. She gasped and heard her say 'I'm sorry' then it was like she was stuck with a thousand blistering hot needles. She tried to scream from the pain but breath was stolen from her. She thrashed, drowning on land, but worse still, her magma form started to solidify into obsidian-like rock. She tried to pull Nailah off and away but the sizzling, hissing water on magma enveloped them in a thick cloud of steam. She gasped and tried to reach out for help as her body turn into solid stone, then everything went black.

Angel jumped up to look around, screaming, fighting, fires were everywhere. "We got a crazy battle on this side, we gotta go to the school and wrangle some student muscle head on that side! Maybe we can hold them off long enough for the remaining force to collect and regroup!" Angel hissed as a fire bolt shot past him, gazing his shoulder and setting his sleeve on fire. He grabbed a handful of snow and doused it, but he was burned underneath. He looked up and gasped seeing a view down the street that chilled his blood. "Captain Molly's.... down." he stammered.

Nailah felt Molly grow very still, and very cold. She withdrew, solidifying into her human form, keening at the sight of her partner. Her hand trailed along Molly's slate jaw, taking in her pain stricken features. Her hand curled into a fist, and she pressed her brow against hers. "This wasn't what I wanted," she gasped, throat constricting. "If I thought you could join us...I would have had you with me, always."
Audrey hauled herself up from the ground, the cement cracked and paint peeling from the heatwaves. She dusted off her jacket, coated in a fine film of ash. "Took you long enough," she muttered, coming to stand beside Nailah, peering at Molly's husk with mild interest. "Did you have to wait for her to go full volcano?"
Nailah grit her teeth, turning away from her dead partner. "She had to be at her hottest point for her body to petrify under a cool climate," she forced out, letting detachment settle over her shoulders. "I'm sure we can replace the lackeys." She began making her way towards the Academy, hatred pooling in her gut. She knew, at the root of this, Elroy was to blame. This was all to attend to his enormous store of power. Free from her history with Seibert, who could know what Molly would have done. She might have realised what a risk he was to society, left unfettered. For Molly, Nailah was going to see him stripped of it all. She fell into step beside Audrey as the deputy began strutting towards the Academy bridge.
"Whatever. She makes a nice statue." Audrey raised her hands as they approached the small resistance of commandos, wind picking up bodily around her. "Give it up!" she barked. "Or die here."
Kaiser froze, sensing the steam part around their captain. "No..." he breathed, heart stammering. Grief had no time to sink in as the wind battered him. He caught onto the side of the car to keep from lifting off his feet. There was no way he could safely fly in this! "You're right, we have to fall back," he yelled at Angel. He had to survive this - he had to get back to Angani.

Rapid brushed drywall off his head and jumped up to avoid being tackled, there was so much chaos in the bar, no one could get out. He looked towards Angani and the others and made a parting motion for them to stand clear of the wall, then he ran and smashed through leaving a sizable hole. "We gotta go!"
"Where's Kaiser!" Angani shouted.
"No time! He's out with the SIlver Wings!" Rapid ushered people through the hole.
"He WHAT?" Angani ran out the hole and scrambled towards the flaming streets but Rapid caught him up under his arm like a football and ran in the opposite direction. "Let go of me!" Angani pounded at Rapid's shoulders and back. "I gotta get to him!"
"I told him I'd keep you safe!" Rapid skidded around the corner and their group ran down another street when there was a blaring as a convoy of Alfonse's vehicle barreled down the streets towards the Academy bridge.
"Put me down he could get killed! Let go!" Angani screeched.
Rapid set him down. "Stay!" he said uncertainly and ran out into the road and put out his hands stopping a speeding jeep about as effectively as a stone pillar. It crumpled around his hands and torso and he clambered up the hood and tossed out the occupents through the open roof. "Get in!" he told the other and looked around, Angani had run off.
"Damn... ok get these guys over to the park I gotta go after him!" Rapid left his group and ran down the street searching for Angani, trying to dodge cars and slingers as he went.

Piper lead the frightened students and staff from the Academy across the long ice bridge towards the docks on the mainland. Emery was on the beach with a growing crowd of his own.
"City's a no-zone." Emery shook his head. "We're sitting ducks out here!"
"To the warehouses near the old trash incinerator." Piper gasped out, exhausted from the trek. "You take them, I gotta go back."
"What?? No Way I'm leaving you alone." Emery frowned.
"Emery, they need looking after, and no offense but with your powers not working you'll but more hinderance than help."
Emery flinched and glared at her for a heart beat. "Fine. Remember Knock Three Times." he nodded and turned around. "Ok people lets move! Follow me!" he took off at a run down the frosty beach with the crowd hot on his heels.
Piper turned and skated back across the ice as fast as she could, she had to help Kaiser!

Alfonse stepped over the bodies of the slain guards of the Power Plant as they made their way to the main station.
"This oughta sway the odds in our favor. People are so dependent on power, internet, phones, batteries. Lets see how much more powerful they are when I send them back into the dark ages. Leave them with nothing, watch them build themselves back up." he sent Elroy into the main plant's gated station. It hummed with electricity and power. Elroy's heart pounded being so close to so much raw power.
Take it down. Alfonse ordered inside his head.
Elroy's eyes blazed blue and the raw technological energy crackled around them. It was like trying to grab the reins of a massive wild stallion. The second he grabbed ahold, more power than he had ever even touched surged through him, flooding every veins, making every tooth in his skull buzz. The power blinded him, he couldn't breath. Couldn't move. Couldn't scream.
On the outside Alfonse grinned watching him seize and buckle under the blinding arcs of electricity and power. The coils lashed out, destroying solar panels and huge generator tanks. The city itself started to flicker in and out of power all around them.
"I don't care if it kills him. After this there won't be any need for technopaths or lightning slingers. There will be no power or tech." Alfonse pushed him past his limits. Like Emery, Elroy's veins stood out black and raised under his skin and pain like nothing he had ever known shot through him. There was a loud explosion force that nearly bowled Alfonse back, followed by a massive ball of blinding white light and power plant shrapnel shot in every direction as Elroy blew it to bits.
The City hummed then dimmed into darkness, only illuminated by the burning buildings.
